Microblading
Using a handheld tool or machine, pigment is carefully etched into the upper layers of the skin to fill in sparse areas, redefine the shape, or add fullness to the eyebrows. Each stroke is made in the direction of your natural hair growth, creating a harmonious, natural-looking brow that enhances your facial features.
With over 10 years of experience in makeup, I use my in-depth knowledge of facial anatomy, skin tones, and colour theory to design and craft the ideal brows for each individual. By understanding facial geometry, I carefully measure and shape the brows to create a personalised result that enhances your features. The goal is always to achieve a "realistic" finish — brows that are timeless, classic, and never subject to trends.
The results typically last 1-3 years, and every booking includes a 4-6 week touch up.
Microblading is not for very oily skin, especially if you have large pores on the forehead. Excess oil can cause the pigment to fade quickly or heal in a powdery, fuzzy appearance, resulting in a lack of detail. Oily skin may also require more frequent touch-ups. Nanoblading is a better option for this skin type, see below for more information.
Additionally, individuals with sun-damaged, extremely delicate, or sensitive skin, or those with conditions such as Eczema, Psoriasis, Rosacea, or heavy Melasma, may not be ideal candidates for microblading. These skin issues can impact the retention and longevity of the microbladed strokes.
Nanoblading
Many of you will be wondering what the difference between micrbolading and nanoblading is. The first difference is the tool used, while microblading uses a manual tool with a blade, nanoblading uses a machine with a nanoneedle. Nanoblading will achieve better healed hair strokes on more sensitive skin types, and is the perfect option for clients over the age of 40. All semi-permanent procedures are are 2 part process and you will receive a 4-6 week touch up included in the price.
The results will last 1-3 years and will never discolour.
Nanoblading is recommended more to clients aged 40 and over as it is slightly less invasive and gentler on the skin.
Combination Brow
This is Zo’s signature hair stroke method combined with shading on the brows . It is essentially a mix of microblading and powder brows to create a fuller looking brow. This can also be done to hide larger gaps for the clients who want hair strokes, but don’t want a make-up like look. We call this strategic shading- if this is something you would like, Zo can advise you in your consultation.
Combination brow tends to last 1-3 years depending on skin type and other influential factors.
You receive a 4-6 week touch up appointment included in the price of your first booking.
A combination brow is most suitable for individuals with normal to moderately oily skin or those who would like a fuller brow look.
Ombre Brow
Finally, the ombre brow. This is the shading method, which is done by using a machine to achieve a more soft powdered look. Results can differ depending on what the client preferences are, some prefer a more defined brow, whilst others like a soft powdered look that is well hidden behind the hairs.
This method will last 1.5-3 years and every booking includes a 4-6 week touch up.
Ombre brows will work well for oily skin and more sensitive skin types as the technique causes less trauma to implant the pigment. Less trauma = better retention.
